It's too hot outside here in Vietnam so came inside to catch up on my e mails. Checked in with D&A too and was delighted to catch up with all your news. Our hotel here has a golf course so we've played twice and are booked in again this afternoon. The hire clubs are awful but the course is lovely and in great nick. (The caddies are superb at reading the greens too.) Back on our travels tomorrow. Loads to tell when I see you all in April.

Just to say belated congratulations to all the D&A team (and that includes Captain, Vice, caddies and supporters) for another great west jamboree victory. Sorry I couldn't be there to support but I was cheering you on all the way. I can't wait to catch up with you all at the county finals at Tulliallan. Although I'm not sure I'm looking forward to playing against D&A - that will be very strange! See you in a couple of weeks.

Many many congratulations to Helen Faulds on a terrific performance in Sweden as part of the Scottish Seniors Team in the European Seniors Team Championships. Helen had the best overall individual score in the team that helped them get into the Flight A matchplay draw against France, England and Sweden. Although it was a struggle in the play offs Helen was unlucky to lose at the 21st against France and was just pipped by her Swedish opponent.
D&A must be very proud of her achievements --- and WELL DONE HELEN

THANKS Carol - we at D & A are very proud of Helen

Hi Girls, sorry to have taken so long to get this message to you but my poor IT skills are a bit like my golf, awful. I just wanted to thank you all for my wine and my marker much appreciated but I'm not sure that I did enough to merit them but I shall enjoy the wine and the marker will remind me of three great days at East Ren. You all did so well and gave your all and at the end of the day it came down to the odd putt. Anyway we'll all try again next year! Hope you all play well for the rest of the season. I'm now mastering the web and can follow how your doing. Thanks again. Kay

Well done to Jean and Fiona for demonstrating how to put a Kimono on despite the instructions being in Japanese. We had three excellent speeches from those new to the Caddies Dinner, Kay, Suzanne, Di Buchanan, Ann Traill. Glad we didn't tell you in advance, look at what we would have missed.

For the attention of Jill, Lauren, Kerrie, Zoe, Nichola and Lysa. The Dream team. Hi Girls, Just a short E mail to wish you all the best in the Kennedy Salver next week. Just remember that there wont be a single player there who doesn't play a bad shot in each round. That's allowed, but when it happens, just put it behind you and approach the next shot positively. It doesn't seem as long as it actually is since I was your age and I can remember getting annoyed with myself to the extent it was like pressing a self destruct button. Good Luck to you all, play well. Suzanne

Congratulations to all the junior girls from the county who played in the St Leonard's Under 16 Tournament at St. Andrews. Once again this event was plagued with high winds on both days, force 5-6 and it was cold as well....so much for spring warmth. All of the girls done exceptionally well in view of the testing conditions............is there anything out there that will stop these girls from playing golf!!!
Thanks also must go to Helen, Kay, Karen, Anna and Anne Laing for their support given to the girls over the two days.........very much appreciated by the junior girls.

On behalf of all the parents of the girls who have been involved in the Junior Girls Training Squad may I pass on our thanks to Anna Telfer (County Captain), Helen MacGregor (County Vice-Captain) and Karen Maxwell (Junior Girls Secretary) for all their hard work and especially the personal time that all three gave up to encorage the girls over the winter months. I think you will all agree, the girls are an asset to the future success of the County and their home clubs.
Thanks also goes to the County Senior Squad who played against the Junior Girls at Minlgavie on Sunday (20th March) and showed the juniors the quality of golf that can be achieved with hard work and dedication. No doubt the Junior Girls will be seeking revenge if a rematch can be arranged for later in the year.
Once again thanks for hard work.

I note from your web site that you mentioned how successful your Captain Anna and Helen Faulds were in the Spanish Seniors foursomes in Jerez last week. It doesn't seemed to be reported on any of the websites that Anna had a HOLE IN ONE!! A hole of 105 metres - island hole - water in front of the green and water immediately behind the green. Caused many lost balls during the course of the week! I wasn't playing with her but but was happy to celebrate with her after our rounds. Well done Anna! Sorry can't tell you the club she used. Can't remember, but I am sure she will tell you if you ask her.

Good to see the website! Would it be possible to enter competitions through the website? Perhaps a link to each entry taker would work. Thanks, look forward to watching the site all year. The photos are great!

Thanks Anne - it is nice to know that members are enjoying our new website - it is early days yet but I am sure that in time, members will be able to enter competitions this way. I will of course report what you are suggesting at the next committee meeting. Most of the photographs are thanks to the lovely digital camera that belongs to Anna Telfer

Thanks Karen, I enjoyed the day at Balmore and was very impressed with the ability of the junior girls - their enthusiasm on such a miserable day was truly wonderful - did any of them actually notice the rain??

Congratulations to D&A commiteee on getting the Web Site up and running.
What a good idea to have 'mug shots' of the Commitee. so that they are easily recognisable at county fixtures.
Keep up the good work!

Great to see the results of yesterday's comp. Jean! Just a pity we weren't among the prizewinners. Will hopefully sort out the printer this w/e.
5 gold stars awarded for computing skills
1 gold star for golf (for effort) !!!!!!!!!!!!

Reply from Jean Campbell
(Anna - the 1 gold star is over generous!!! - a very small silver star would suffice!)
